HTC 10 Starts Receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo Update Via OTA

The Android 8.0 Oreo update is being rolled out to unlocked units of HTC 10 in the US.

Back in August previous year, Taiwanese smartphone brand HTC confirmed that HTC 10, U Ultra and U11 smartphones would receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The company is now upgrading all the high-end smartphones to this latest Android Oreo update. The rollout of 8.0 will resume “in next couple of weeks”, Mi India confirmed on social media. HTC 10 is company's one of the most popular high-end smartphone which is getting the Oreo update. Just note that when you install that, it will wipe your phone completely so better make sure you've already backed up your data or else you might end up crying instead of happy with your update.

The Oreo update will bring the picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. It carries version number 3.16.617.2 and is rolling out over the air. Through this one can manually download the desired files and flash the Android 8.0 Oreo onto your smartphone. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more. HTC also released the Oreo update for HTC 11 in November.

If you are impatient and don't want to wait for the push notification, you can go ahead and check for the update manually from your device. The main reason for the call related problem is due to delay in granting telephone permission to MyJio app. It remains to be seen as to when Xiaomi will release a fresh update with all the bugs fixed. However, Nvidia hasn't stated that they will integrate this option in the update.
