Ministers should speak up like judges: BJP leader Yashwant Sinha

A view of the Supreme Court in New Delhi

"Politics by political parties of the country, outside the judicial purview, trying to drag issues which are internal to the judiciary and politicise that is something which should not be attempted", BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, adding, "The Congress party has attempted the same, it has tried its best to politicise internal issues of judiciary".

Referring to the case of special CBI judge Loya, which is believed to have triggered the revolt in the Supreme Court, Rahul said it called for proper investigation by an independent SIT. "Hope we get at the truth of Judge Loya's death", he said in a series of tweets. It was clear that sensitive cases were under scanner, he said.

"The points that have been raised by the four judges are extremely important". It needs to be investigated properly. If the four senior judges have gone public then how is it a Supreme Court matter alone?

"There is the judge Loya case.

All those who care about the future of the country and of democracy should raise their voice", Sinha said.

Kohli should drop himself if he fails at Centurion: Sehwag
The first time it happened was in his debut innings against Bangladesh in September 2017, when he was run out for 97. India have only played one Test in Centurion, on their 2010-11 tour.

The debate looks into the credibility of the judgements coming from the Supreme Court. "I had tweeted on the entire matter yesterday", he said. What the judges have said is the feeling of millions of Indians.

Addressing the media, the senior-most judges launched a sharp attack on Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra for "ignoring the concerns voiced by them". Many things less than desirable have happened in the last few months. "We shall be failing in our national duty of we don't react", said Sinha. The former minister, who has been a vocal critic of policies on demonetisation, GST and Jammu and Kashmir, claimed that he was "personally aware of the fear in which members of the cabinet in this government are working, and that also is a threat to democracy".

"The four of us gave a letter to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) some months ago", the justices revealed. The case also had BJP president Amit Shah as one of the culprits who was accused in the case.

Justice J Chelameswar, however, added that democracy comes under threat if judiciary loses its freedom.

Their allegations evoked sharp reactions from a divided legal fraternity of the country with some supporting their cause and others chiding them for immature and childish behaviour.
