Allen Robinson reportedly agrees to Chicago Bears switch

Robinson's 2017 season was cut short nearly as soon as it began when he tore his ACL In Week 1, but the setback did not prevent him from drawing heavy interest in free agency, and he appears headed to Chicago after four years in Jacksonville.

Robinson, who missed nearly all of last season after suffering a torn ACL in the opening game, is reportedly set to sign a three-year $42million contract with the Bears after being allowed to hit free agency by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears already have a stable starting quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky, but they still need to surround him with more weapons to make him more unsafe. He had 73 catches for 883 yards and six touchdowns in 2016.

The Bears are ready to take a chance on Allen Robinson.

The majority of those yards, specifically in 2015, were made on the deep ball, as Robinson caught 19 balls for 672 yards on passes that were thrown over 20 yards.

Robinson, 24, is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which sidelined him for all but three plays of the 2017 season. After that, restricted free agents who earn tenders are only allowed to negotiate with the franchise they played for this past season. Last week, they elected not to franchise him, which would've been worth roughly $16 million.

Adding receivers for Trubisky was a top priority for Pace.

Robinson also expressed interest in moving to Chicago. Kendall Wright led Chicago with 59 receptions for 614 yards with one touchdown last season as their top two receivers, Kevin White and Cameron Meredith, both went down to season-ending injuries.

Bottom line, you don't bring in a player like Robinson to be a decoy.
