Yesterday two people were taken to hospital after a suspicious package was sent to the office of Labour MP Mohammad Yasin.

Police were called to the estate where MPs and their staff have their offices on Tuesday at 9.49am.

The spokesman later said the suspicious substances was found not to be hazardous.

Parliament has received four suspicious packages over the past 24 hours, The Sun's Westminster Correspondent Natasha Clark reported, citing London police.

Last month, United Kingdom home secretary Amber Rudd had white powder sent to her office in Parliament which was also assessed and found to be not unsafe.

Police said they were investigating reports of a suspicious package at the Norman Shaw Buildings, where many lawmakers have their offices, on the parliamentary estate.

Two were sent to Portcullis House and Norman Shaw Buildings on Monday, both of which were later deemed non-harmful.

The spokesman said there were no reported injuries and inquiries were continuing.

"A suspicious substance was investigated by the Met Police and was found not to be hazardous", a spokesman for parliament said in a statement.

It emerged today that two more suspicious packages have been sent to the Houses of Parliament, with another man taken to hospital.
