Portia de Rossi explains why she quit acting (with one exception)

Portia De Rossi on 'The Ellen De Generes Show.'

Portia de Rossi made a stop at her wife Ellen DeGeneres' show this week, to talk about her brand new business venture and why she chose to leave acting after her recent stint on Scandal.

"I just think it's wonderful, too, because all you've ever known your entire life is acting, that's all you've known, and you took a chance, and you decided 'I'm gonna try a whole new thing that I've never done'". "I was just kind of wondering if there was something that I could tackle now that I've never done before that would be really challenging and different".

But de Rossi adds that she has a few more episodes of Arrested Development to show before she's totally done. "I kind of knew what acting would look like for me for the next 10, 20 years, so I made a decision to quit and start a business", Portia said. "Don't know how it happened".

You can see the interview between her and Ellen below.

"And then they look at me and go, 'And you're horrible!' It's amusing", she said.

SpecialEffect collaborate in development of new Xbox Adaptive Controller
Microsoft has now announced the Xbox Adaptive Controller today that allows many people with disabilities to play video games. The controller features a USB-C port along with nineteen 3.5 mm ports which basically represent Xbox gamepad's button.

"She's just so awesome!"

De Rossi, who has been married to DeGeneres since 2008, said the secret to their union is that they are best friends.

Portia is now focusing on developing her new business, an art venture named General Public, in which she collaborates with artists to create their original works as Synographs, or textured prints, and sells them online direct to consumers.

And Portia wants her fans to know that this isn't a vanity project, because she is very hands-on, devoting the same kind of time and energy expended on her acting career.
