Cohen likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors

President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen has split with the legal team that has shepherded him through a criminal investigation that included a high-profile FBI raid a source familiar with the change said Wednesday

Cohen's lawyers Stephen Ryan and Todd Harrison of McDermott, Will & Emery LLP, a Washington and NY firm, have been representing Cohen and are facing a Friday deadline to complete a review of documents seized by federal prosecutors in an April raid on Cohen's home and office.

The law firm representing Michael Cohen is leaving the case, a possible sign that President Trump's personal attorney may flip and cooperate with federal prosecutors, according to a media report Wednesday.

"Attorney-client privilege is dead!"

Trump's lawyers have resigned themselves to the strong possibility that this investigation could lead Cohen to cooperate with prosecutors. Still, sources told ABC that the new developments with regard to Cohen are expected to hit the White House, family members, staffers and counsels hard.

If the Suns do hang on to the No. 1 pick, it's expected that they'll select the seven-foot, 260-pound Ayton. If so, this is the trade package I would explore if I am the Clippers.

Judge Kimba Wood set a June 15 deadline for Cohen's and Trump's lawyers to finish their review and has appointed a special master to vet their claims of privilege. Any remaining items to be reviewed would be turned over to a team of federal prosecutors unconnected to the case to complete the examination of the documents. But not good news for Team Trump.

According to the Journal, Cohen is looking for a federal criminal lawyer in NY, preferably one with close connections to the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office.

While Cohen has not been charged with a crime, he is the subject of an investigation by federal prosecutors of alleged wire fraud and other crimes. The New York Times said an issue with payment of legal bills prompted the change. (Reached for comment, Cohen wrote in a text message, "Your alleged source is wrong!") The specter of Cohen flipping has Trump advisers on edge.
