‘There’s a special place in hell’ for Trudeau, White House adviser says

2018 G7 Summit far from harmonious

During an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, Trump recounted seeing Trudeau's statement following the G7 summit in Quebec, Canada, during which the prime minister promised to fight back against the US's trade restrictions.

And I'll tell you this: "to my friends in Canada, that was one of the worst political miscalculations of a Canadian leader in modern Canadian history".

Trump, who had criticised Trudeau after the G7 meeting in Canada on the weekend, said the United States had a big trade deficit with Canada, and "a little balance" was needed. Conspiracy theories, jokes and memes started bubbling up after the Canadian Prime Minister's eyebrows appeared uneven during his press conference with French president Emanuel Macron. Mulroney began working with Trudeau a year ago. "According to a Canada release, they make nearly 100 Billion Dollars in Trade with US (guess they were bragging and got caught!)".

"I know it didn't look friendly", Trump said.

Reacting to the same, Kudlow said, "Trudeau really kind of stabbed us in the back".

In response to the massive steel and aluminium tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, Canada which is one of the largest exporters of the same spoke out against the exorbitant duties.

Mr Trudeau and the European Union have vowed to take retaliatory action next month over U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminium.

Grab drives off with US$1bn Toyota investment
It also has Southeast Asia's biggest land transportation fleet, delivering over six million rides per day. Grab operates across Asia and agreed to acquire Uber's Southeast Asian business earlier this year.

Canada's House of Commons adopted an unusual unanimous resolution Monday backing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after he was harshly criticized by President Donald Trump, while Americans lent support to their northern neighbor on Twitter through a special hashtag #ThankCanada. "#G72018" a tweet from the White House read.

Trudeau promised retaliatory measures against USA tariffs on Saturday evening after the summit, a move Navarro called "nothing short of an attack on our political system".

Immediately after his remarks Saturday, Trump blasted Trudeau's statement as "dishonest & weak" on Twitter and announced the United States would not be signing the joint G7 communique - a symbolic but unprecedented move.

"And in fact the picture with Angela Merkel, who I get along with very well, where I'm sitting there like this. we're waiting for the document because I wanted to see the final document as changed".

What did Trudeau say to warrant Kudlow's claims?

The slow progress of the talks - the Trump administration has missed multiple deadlines to notify Congress of modifications to the agreement - has been accompanied by a hardening of USA tactics over the past month.
