Novichok nerve agent patient regains consciousness

A car belonging to a paramedic has been taken away from an address in Swindon for further examination

Police seized a auto in the large town of Swindon as part of their probe into the death of 44-year-old Dawn Sturgess, who was exposed to Novichok, a military-grade nerve agent produced in the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

In response, the official Twitter account for Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Williamson's statements the latest attempt to unfairly blame Russian Federation for poisonings related to Novichok.

Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley, were found unconscious. "Could you perhaps come up with something new?"

"That is something that I think the world will unite with us in actually condemning".

Police are investigating a possible link to the case of Russians Sergei and Yulia Skripal - who were poisoned with the same substance in nearby Salisbury.

Lorna Wilkinson, the hospital's director of nursing, said "his condition is now serious, but stable".

Britain has blamed Russian Federation for the poisonings, but Moscow has strongly denied any involvement.

The surviving victim of the Amesbury novichok poisoning has regained consciousness and experienced a "small but significant improvement to his condition", a spokeswoman for Salisbury district hospital said.

Reuters contributed reporting to this article.

Iran oil minister: No change in production, export
Zanganeh said Iranian oil production and exports had not changed as a result of USA pressures. Stringent sanctions on Iran will take both Saudi Arabia and the oil market into the unknown.

They had both been taken to hospital in the city of Amesbury on June 30.

The two spent weeks in critical condition but have since been discharged from the hospital.

England's Chief Medical Officer Sally Davies on Tuesday warned residents of Salisbury and Amesbury that they should not "pick up any foreign object which could contain liquid or gel, in the interests of their own safety".

The mother-of-three's family released a statement saying her death was "devastating" and that she was a "gentle soul who was generous to a fault".

A red Ford Transit van which Mr Rowley had been a passenger in and a bus taken by the pair the night before they became ill have also been taken away for testing.

Residents also claimed he had told them both his vehicle and his clothes were being taken to the government laboratory at Porton Down to be destroyed.

A tweet by police said, "the public should not be alarmed by this".

Police now believe the two handled a contaminated item with a high dose of Novichok, although they have not been able to confirm if it was from the same batch as the one used in the attempted murder of the Skripals.

It is understood police are being guided by doctors over when and for how long they can interview Mr Rowley.
