Supreme Court nominee dishes out mac and cheese to homeless

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with US President Donald

In financial disclosure forms, Kavanaugh reported having $60,000 to $200,000 in debt in 2016, not including this $865,000 mortgage, and White House spokesman Raj Shah tells The Washington Post that President Trump's nominee went into debt buying Nats season tickets and playoff game tickets for himself and a "handful" of friends, and also on home improvements. The general consensus was that pointing out that Kavanaugh loves baseball, has the trust of his friends, and pays off his debts was not likely to be much of a political liability in a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting. Shah told Brittain that Kavanaugh's friends paid back their debt and he no longer buys season tickets.

The records also showed that Kavanaugh, a federal appellate judge nominated by President Donald Trump to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, had between $45,000 and $150,000 in credit card debt in 2016, which was paid off by the following year.

Separate from the disclosure forms, the White House said that between Kavanaugh's retirement account balance of $400,000 to $500,000, and the equity in his home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, he has about an additional million dollars in wealth.

Kavanaugh, who has been a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit since 2006, has had a large amount of credit card debt for more than a decade, ranging between $60,000 and $200,000, per The Washington Post. "Each credit card had between "$15,000 and $50,000 in debt, and a Thrift Savings Plan loan was between $15,000 and $50,000". The value of residences is not subject to disclosure, and Shah added that Kavanaugh has a government retirement account worth almost half a million dollars that also was not required to be disclosed.

Regarding Kavanaugh being poorer than the others, many of whom had considerable earnings during years of non-government legal work, Shah said, "He's devoted his life to public service".

We have seen the reactions back home and it's been unbelievable, so we will hopefully give them many more great moments". Didier Deschamps' side will now face the victor of Wednesday's tie between England and Croatia in Moscow.

Next, the article examines Kavanaugh's reportable assets of between $15,000 to $65,000.

Since then, they have refinanced the home twice - most recently in 2015.

As with Trump's own financial disclosure forms released earlier this year, and summarized by the Inquisitr, the forms give only a range of values for Kavanaugh's assets and debts, rather than precise dollar figures. The Court's newest justice, Neil Gorsuch, reported assets worth between $3.6 million to $10.5 million in his most recent filings. That, the Washington Post reports, puts him "at the bottom of the financial ranking of justices, most of whom list well over $1 million in assets".

Pausing in his pursuit of Supreme Court robes, nominee Brett Kavanaugh donned a blue apron Wednesday afternoon to help serve meals to the homeless.
