China's July exports rise more than expected despite US tariffs

Products being targeted now include crude oil, cars, steel and medical equipment.

The tranche of 25 per cent tariffs - which covers 279 products including electronic parts, plastics, chemicals, batteries, tractors and railway cars - follows $US34 billion worth of tariffs announced by the United States government in July.

China has repeatedly warned it will strike back, and has already begun enforcing or is getting ready to enforce its own retaliatory tariffs, according to Reuters.

Negotiations broke off after the Trump administration imposed the tariffs on $34 billion in Chinese imports, a move the Chinese said would void any promises they'd made in negotiations. US President Donald Trump accused Beijing of "being vicious" on trade, stressing that Chinese measures were targeting US farmers on goal.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative says the tariffs are in response to China's "unfair trade practices related to the forced transfer of American technology and intellectual property". President Donald Trump has suggested he may tax effectively all imports of Chinese goods, which reached more than $500 billion past year. It represents the latest salvo in the ever-expanding trade war between the USA and China.

The US is now considering tariffs on another $200bn in goods, including consumer products that were spared duties in the initial $50bn round.

The surplus with the United States was higher than China's overall trade surplus in July, which was $28.05 billion, indicating China ran a net trade deficit with the world excluding the U.S.

Angelina Jolie Claims Brad Pitt Has Paid No Child Support
A document surfaced earlier this summer, which showed their judge ordered Jolie to give Pitt more time with their six children. Pitt was later provided with cell phone numbers for each child, in order to text and call them without Jolie's supervision.

Mr Trump has said he would be willing to hit all of China's imports with duties.

A spokesman for the commerce ministry described the latest round of USA tariffs as "very unreasonable".

After a strong start to the year, growth in the world's second-largest economy cooled slightly in the second quarter, partly hit by the government's years-long efforts to tackle debt risks.

All China's main state newspapers published a lengthy commentary by the official Xinhua news agency, entitled "declaration", on their front pages.

Among the products removed from the earlier list on $16 billion of imports were shipping containers, including those used by freight companies.

China's imports rose 27.3 percent year-on-year in July, in a sign domestic demand remains solid, but the worry is that the escalating Sino-U.S. trade war, rising corporate bankruptcies, and a steep decline in the yuan could put a significant dent on the economy.

John Neuffer, president and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association, said in a statement they were disappointed and puzzled why semiconductors remain on the final tariff list.
