Causing premature BIRTH: TERRIFYING moment rocket EXPLODES in Israel near CHILDREN

Palestinian mourners carry the body of a Hamas member killed by Israeli fire during his funeral in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip

"As of now, approximately 70 rocket launches were identified from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory".

The Israeli military said it launched the attacks late on Wednesday after about 150 rockets were fired from the coastal enclave, injuring at least six people in Israel.

Enas Khammash, 23, and her 18-month daughter Bayan were killed in an airstrike in Jafarawi in central Gaza, the health ministry in the Hamas-controlled strip said, while her husband was injured. Two pregnant women were also taken to Barzilai Medical Center after they went into labor as a result of the stress.

Footage of the attack shows the rocket impacted near a playground packed with dozens of children and there are reports that there was not enough room in bomb shelters.

Israel Defense Forces attacked 12 "terror targets" throughout Gaza, including the manufacturing facility the military said had helped to build the attack tunnels.

Sirens wailed in southern Israel warning of incoming projectiles from Gaza and Israeli media reported two people were lightly injured from shrapnel in the border town of Sderot.

"Hamas hit the "enemy" with a large number of rockets", it said. "The "Iron Dome" aerial defence system intercepted 11 launches, the majority of the rockets hit open areas", the IAF said on its Twitter account.

Three Israelis were reported wounded in a rocket attack on the southern city of Sderot.

U.S. senator seeks dialogue with Russian legislators
The "main aim of the trip" was to "create a dialogue" and "improve relations" between Moscow and Washington , Paul added. Trump later walked back the remark and said he trusted the US intelligence community's assessment Moscow did interfere.

An Israeli minister said his government has rejected an European Union plan to link the Gaza Strip with the West Bank, according to Israeli media on Wednesday.

The strikes came after two fighters from the military wing of Hamas, which rules Gaza, were killed by Israeli fire on Tuesday.

The escalation comes after the Hamas leadership convened for a rare meeting in Gaza on Friday.

The two men killed in northern Beit Lahiya were Hamas snipers taking part in a live-fire exercise within a compound on Gazan territory, the group's armed wing said in a statement.

The attacks come as the United Nations and Egypt try to secure a deal between Israel and Hamas for a lasting truce.

The protests call for Palestinians to be able to return to the land they or their families fled or were expelled from in the 1948 war that established the state of Israel.

In an earlier statement, the Israeli military said gunmen had fired on its soldiers from a Hamas post, which was shelled by a tank in response.

Over the past four months, 158 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including at least 120 in the protests near the fence and others in Israeli air strikes and other incidents elsewhere in Gaza, according to the Gaza Health Ministry and a local rights group.
